My childhood love asked me “Why do you think we have dreams?”.
I responded by saying “I think we dream about the things we can’t ever have. For example, I dreamed about a guy I used to like, what it was like to kiss, laugh, and date him. Something that I’ll never get a chance to do.”
He just nodded and agreed.
Little did he know that my dream was about him.

You know me. I don’t like to admit to weakness or pain of any kind. You’ve said I’m tough, fearless, a fighter, one of the guys… and you said that you liked me for that.
That that’s why you’d been drawn to me in the first place, and that that’s one reason we’re such good friends and always have been.

Sure, I’d known him my entire life. We grew up together. He was one of my closest friends, and I knew him like the back of my hand. I knew the color of his eyes in the sun, I knew his voice as well as any song. I knew his quirks and passions. I knew him and he knew me, because that’s what friends do. But that night, stargazing on a blanket and laughing at stories we told, I took one look at him, and that’s when I fell in love.
